From New York-based young directors Yebin Ahn, Hae Deun Woo, And Byeori Kim, Swift is a fun thriller short film narrating the story of a teenage kid who wants to be a superhero. She finally finds out one day that she has superpowers, and
subsequently uses her gift in a crime scene.
“We shot our footage with RED Epic X Camera, Canon Prime lenses, Motion Control Rig and Doorway Dolly. We mainly used Maya for creating CG objects and Nuke for compositing in post production. Mari, Substance Painter, PF Track, Mocha Pro, Photoshop and Premiere Pro are also used in post production.” directors remark.
This 5-minute 2018 film has already earned the praise of many viewers and became a 14th NYC Downtown Short Film Festival Awards Winner for ‘Best NYC Film’ category.
The NYC Downtown Short Film Festival is a program of DMAC-Duo Multicultural Arts Center a (501 c3) non-profit organization located at 62 East 4th Street in New York City’s East Village. The mission of DMAC is to create, promote and celebrate multicultural arts through theater, music, dance, art and film.
The screenings take place at a historic turn of the century theater where everyone from John Philip Sousa, Emma Goldman, Andy Warhol have graced the stage. The sensa mamma scene from The Godfather 2 was shot by Francis Ford Coppola in this theater.
The event date for the 15th NYC Downtown festival is June 13 – 16, 2019 with June 8, 2019 as the last date for submitting work.
