Matthew Hall (better known as M.R. Hall) is one the notable British novelists in the crime genre. Previously a lawyer, his books are carefully plotted and are amazingly factual. He is one of those authors who spend more than a year in writing a book and even more time doing research for a book. He has published three books so far featuring Jenny Cooper, a coroner in Severn Vale District. Hall's first novel, The Coroner, was published in 2009. His second novel, The Disappeared, was published in January 2010 in the UK. The Coroner was shortlisted for the Crime Writer's Association Gold Dagger awarded to the best crime novel of 2009. His third novel, The Redeemed, published by PanMacmillan in April 2011 (We have a upcoming review on this book). In this video, Hall talks about his past, his second novel The Disappeared, the locations of his plots and the process in which he goes through to write his books.
