Danica Curcic was born in Belgrade. At the age of one, she moved to Copenhagen with her family where her father worked at the Yugoslavian embassy. Danica Curcic attended Sankt Annæ Gymnasium before obtaining a bachelor’s degree in film and media science from the University of Copenhagen.

She then spent a year in California where she took acting classes at the Dell’Arte International School of Physical Theater before enrolling at the Danish National School of Theater and Contemporary Dance, graduating in 2012. Curcic had her feature film debut in Over kanten in 2012. In 2014, she received a Shooting Star Award at the Berlin International Film Festival in 2014. In 2015, she received a Danish Film Critics Association Award for Best Actress for her role in Bille August’s Silent Heart.

One of the latest and most notable series she has played in is The Mist. Stephen King’s 1980 novella “The Mist” — adapted into a feature film by Frank Darabont in 2007 — is re-imagined for TV by executive producer/writer Christian Torpe.

Set in the small town of Bridgeville, Maine, the story centers on a family torn apart by a heinous crime. In the aftermath, they are suddenly cut off from the rest of the world when an eerie, foreboding vapor unleashes predatory creatures onto the streets. Family, friends, and adversaries become strange bedfellows, battling the mysterious mist and its threats, as the rules of society break down.
